Week 38 - Sprout is as big as a BABY!

So we have been incredibly remiss in posting as of late, and I am sorry.  I think we have been focusing on how crazy close this bebe is to coming into our lives.  We are officially full term last week!  Any day now we could meet the little one.

Dave's parents were in town last week for our baby shower at our friends Matt and Kims house.  It was a beautiful celebration given by my amazing girls.  We all had a blast!  Cindy and Frank stayed from Thursday to Sunday and thankfully the weather was fantastic.  They got to take walks and ride our bikes along the beach - we took them to Malibu for dinner and also had great burgers here in town.  We also got to meet up with Dave's cousin Amy who was in town for work so that was an added bonus!  The boys were thrilled to spend time with Dave's parents and also show off their city a bit!

We are now at weekly dr appts where we met the other doctor in the practice.  We like her just as much as we like our official OB so that makes for less stress when thinking of the delivery.

Speaking of appointments, the last appointment had us at 1cm dilated so we are progressing!  It could be any time from now to 2 weeks from now.  Smallish contractions happen on and off but nothing crazy ... there are other things going on too but it may be TMI for some - just know that I am fairly certain that we are somewhat close.

Daddy is being very cute about my belleh now ... it won't be long until the focus will be all on that little one and I will be able to eat all the goat cheese I want!  :)  The rolls and kicks have officially turned into moving my insides from one side to the other as my sweet grumpy bebe realizes that there isn't that much room anymore!

Shaena is keeping a very close eye on me to  ensure that I am not alone if I go into labor when I am not around Dave ... luckily for me that I get to see her everyday to have 100% moral support!  I have decided to keep working until the end of January (we'll see how THAT goes) just to ensure that I have all my vacation days for AFTER Sprout makes their appearance.

We officially have all clothes washed and everything we need to ensure that Sprout is comfy and safe whenever they decide to get here.  I cannot believe that I only have, at the most, 3 weeks of side sleeping left!  I have been reading up on all things labor as it has been quite some time since I last felt it ... I think I may be ready!

The boys cannot wait til this one comes so they can shower him/her with all of the love and affection that 3 big brothers can muster.  The dog is acting weird but no one can say if it's the baby coming or just the dog.

I hope to have a picture of the actual Sprout in the coming week but until then here are my pics from 37 and baby shower day.

That's it for now.  We love you and will keep you posted!

Love,

  1. Hi! We are so excited to be meeting your little Sprout soon. We're watching Facebook and this blog. Of course "grandma Cindy" will probably start calling people at 3am if that is when he/she arrives. She and Uncle Frank are so excited
